Favorite Travel Destinations: Turks & Caicos Guide

There is no denying the fact that the one place I continually long to return to is Turks & Caicos. 

This destination holds a special place in my heart. This is the place where we said our vows. It is the place where we adopted our fur baby. It is the place where the moment I step off the plane I instantly feel at home.  

It is also the place I recommend everyone to visit, at least once. 

Favorite Places to Stay: 

Seven Stars Resort

If you are looking for top notch service then look no further than the Seven Stars Resort. 

The moment you pick up your bags at the airport you are immediately whisked away to the resort.

You will be greeted with damp towels and my hubby's favorite rum punch. The rooms are nicely appointed and have upgraded appliances.

The location is ideal and is within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, the IGA(grocery store), and is located on the beautiful Grace Bay beach. 

If you are traveling from January through March this is a great place because they have a heated salt water pool. The water does get a little cool during these months so this is a great feature. You will not be disappointed with a stay here.

The Royal West Indies

If you are looking for something a little more reasonably priced I would highly suggest a stay at the Royal West Indies. The grounds are lush and well kept and the accommodations range from studios to 2 bedroom suites. 

I loved the intimate feel to this resort. I also loved the smaller pools tucked in around the beautiful foliage away from the main area for more privacy. I would return here in a heartbeat.

Favorite Places to eat: 

Coco Bistro 

If you eat out only once on your trip make sure this is the place you go.  The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. Set under swaying lit palm trees it feels like you entered a private oasis. It doesn't hurt that the food is also amazing. Put this one high on your list. 

da Conch Shack

Conch and more conch!! Keep the rum punches flowing and listen to the live bands at this fun and casual restaurant.

Bay Bistro

You must come here at sunset the views are breathtaking. We always find ourselves returning more than once on our trips. Their seafood is so fresh and delicious.

Bella Luna

We always make one visit to this restaurant because I can't possibly go a week without a slice of pizza and they make a pretty mean pie.  This is also the place where our dog got her name, Luna. It was here that we decided to adopt and take her home with us.  

It seems as though they keep adding more and more restaurants to the island.  A great source to check out with menus and pricing is here.
 
Favorite Things To Do:

Frolic on Grace Bay beach. 

Grab a bike and explore the island. Most of the resorts offer complimentary bicycle rentals. 

Take a snorkel trip to Iguana Island. Dive for some fresh conch, snorkel, and search for the many hidden (or not so hidden) iguanas. 

Visit the Potcake Place. The Potcake Place is a dog rescue charity located in Turks. They help find loving homes for these lovable pups. If you are not looking to adopt you can still take one of the pups (or two or three) out for the day for some socialization and some much needed fresh air.  But be forewarned they grow on you fast and it is hard not to fall in love with those ears and playful personalities. I speak from experience. If you are looking to adopt the Potcake Place take care of everything for you. They provide all the necessary paperwork, carriers, leashes and meet you at the airport with your new family member. It was way too easy. 

You can hire a car and drive around the island for the day. So many areas to be discovered. 

Provo Ponies is an unforgettable riding experience where you can horseback ride on the beach and into shallow crystal clear blue waters. 

Turks has so much to offer and the sheer beauty will have you longing to return as well. Guaranteed!
