Escape the Room

While we were in Philly stuffing our faces full of cheesesteaks we wanted to break up the time in between to let our stomachs rest.

I was so excited when I saw that Escape the Room opened in Philly. It is an interactive game where they lock you in a room and you have to solve puzzles and figure out clues to try and "escape". You have 60 minutes or game over.

Since my husband and I are both whizzes at puzzles (insert sarcasm here)we wanted to try our luck.

We were grouped with eight other enthusiastic people who, like us, were eager to make it out with plenty of time to spare. Being a very competitive person, I wanted to have the fastest time.

We were told that there was only a fifteen percent success rate.

No problem. One of the girls we were grouped with had been practicing at home with an online game. Jer and I have watched enough Monk to figure out clues.

We had this shit in the bag.

Once we got into the "office" I realized that we may be screwed.

We had clues spewed everywhere not really sure what to make of them. We were all running around the room picking up one clue then becoming frustrated and throwing it back down.

We spent at least five minutes celebrating when we figured something out (jumping up and down, woo-hooing, and high fives; the works).

We needed to focus. The clock in the room kept ticking down which was making me lose my shit.

At this point I was not thinking of beating the fastest time I just wanted to make it out with even a second to spare.

Did we make it out?

Hell yes! We made it out with a time of 52:00.

We had such a great time and were grouped with a great bunch of people. We are looking forward to additional rooms being added in the future. Once you complete a room you can't do it again because they don't change the puzzles.

It was much harder than I was anticipating and everyone contributed in one way or another. Some of us found the clues and handed them over for others to figure out, this may or may have not been myself, but we each had a part in our "escape".

The Philadelphia location is supposed to open another room with a bank  heist theme which I, personally, can't wait for. New York City has two locations and they have multiple rooms to choose from.

Get a group of friends together and give it a go. Leave me a comment whether you made it out and if you were quick enough to beat our time.
