Desert Light

Friday, April 29, 2016

Spring has become my favorite season here in the desert. It comes alive with the cacti blooming and the smells of fresh flowers immediately hit you when you step outside.

Last month, my mom came to visit and we took a trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens for some music, the popular Bruce Munroe exhibit, and to gather some landscaping inspiration for our backyard.

The Spanish Bayonet was one of my favorite plants, isn't she a beauty!?!?

When the sun went down the desert was lit up by the Bruce Munro light exhibit. Miles of of lights illuminated the Sonoran Desert creating a desert wonderland.

We grabbed a bite to eat and took our seats to listen to music in the garden. There's nothing like Irish music to get your feet tapping and your hands clapping.

The light exhibit has been extended until May 8th so if you are in the area I would highly recommend a visit. Music in the Gardens lasts until June 24th and is held every Friday. It was so great to spend some quality time with my mom in such a magical setting. Can't wait to have her back in a couple of weeks.
