Roadtrippin

We packed up and headed out early Friday. Said goodbye to our old home and strapped ourselves in for the long cross country journey.

The plan was to drive about twelve hours a day switching off and on. I ended up driving about four to five hours a day because my other half wasn't thrilled with my driving nor speed (I tend to have a lead foot and make sporadic jerky stops). He likes to set his cruise control to the exact speed limit and we just sit back and watch all the cars pass us by.

I am not complaining though since I got to read, watch movies, and sleep my way through Maryland, Virginia, Arkansas and Texas.

The only time he would sleep was when I was stuck in stand still traffic in Memphis for two hours crushing my Graceland visiting dreams.
Traveling with a dog and being on a time line makes sightseeing quite difficult.

I did, however, get to visit almost every single rest stop along our route which I would say is quite an accomplishment.

After three days on the road and constantly filling up on fast food  for lunch and dinner it was definitely taking it's toll. I was yearning for a big home cooked meal.

We made it to Arizona late on Sunday night and are trying to settle in. We currently have no furniture and have been sleeping on an air mattress. The movers come tomorrow and I can't tell you how excited I am to finally be able to sleep in our own bed.
