'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when I started to shout,
"No presents are wrapped and tape, shit, we are out."

Down at The Bayou

Monday, December 22, 2014

I was craving some good ole' southern comfort food.

I was hearing good things about The Bayou in Bethlehem so told Jer and we made it a date.

Escape the Room

Thursday, December 18, 2014

While we were in Philly stuffing our faces full of cheesesteaks we wanted to break up the time in between to let our stomachs rest.

I was so excited when I saw that Escape the Room opened in Philly. It is an interactive game where they lock you in a room and you have to solve puzzles and figure out clues to try and "escape". You have 60 minutes or game over.

Since my husband and I are both whizzes at puzzles (insert sarcasm here)we wanted to try our luck.

Philly CheeseSteak Battle

Monday, December 15, 2014

It was Saturday; with growling stomachs that were craving some greasy goodness, we discussed our lunch options.

Since we had plans in Philly, Jer suggested we go to Tony Luke's. He insisted that these were THE best cheesesteaks in Philly and that I must try one.  Knowing that this was the only place he has tried, I took to the internet.

According to my thorough investigation, there is much debate as to who truly has the best, most authentic cheesesteaks in Philly.  Of course, it all comes down to personal taste. However, the three most talked about places were Tony Luke's, Pat's, and Geno's. We were about to drive over an hour for lunch. You best believe we were going to find out who was worthy of the title and try all three. Sound ambitious, it was.

I pulled on a pair of leggings (with the handy elastic) that would accommodate my expanding belly and we were off.  Operation Philly Cheesesteak Battle was on.

First stop was Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave.

Procrastinators' Gift Guide

Thursday, December 11, 2014

There are exactly two weeks until Christmas. If you are anything like me you have not even started your shopping. For those of you who already have your presents nicely wrapped and tucked under your tree, I applaud and curse you all the same.  Every year I tell myself that next year will be different and I will start early and not have to deal with the madness that is last minute Christmas shopping.  Every year, I fail.

I have compiled a list of possible gift ideas.  This too is for my husband, as I know, he has yet to start as well.  Wink Wink Nudge Nudge.

Saddle Up

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

I'm not sure why we always pick the coldest days to go riding but the boys were home and they were excited to go and Jer and I had to practice for our big rodeo debut the next weekend (yes, you are reading that correctly). So we met at my dad's after Thanksgiving and saddled up.

Thanksgiving Day Recap

Saturday, December 6, 2014

It has been over a week now since my favorite holiday has passed and I am still consuming mounds of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn bread, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and caramel apple pie. I was a horrible host and did not offer up any leftovers to our guests (sorry, no Tupperware). I gave my mom the death stare when she intended to take the pie home with her (she ended up just taking a slice). Karma is definitely catching up to my waistline.
Here is a recap of our Thanksgiving before the pressure filled anticipation of Christmas creeps up.

Maddie,"Did you have to kill Polar bears for your seat covers?" Yes, yes we did.

The Start of Something...

If not now, when?

There is no better time than the present. I thought it fitting since it's my birthday and all; a new blog has been formed.

A place to document my days and in the process enhance my grammar skills. That last one may take some time.
