Thanksgiving Day Recap

Saturday, December 6, 2014

It has been over a week now since my favorite holiday has passed and I am still consuming mounds of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn bread, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and caramel apple pie. I was a horrible host and did not offer up any leftovers to our guests (sorry, no Tupperware). I gave my mom the death stare when she intended to take the pie home with her (she ended up just taking a slice). Karma is definitely catching up to my waistline.
Here is a recap of our Thanksgiving before the pressure filled anticipation of Christmas creeps up.

Maddie,"Did you have to kill Polar bears for your seat covers?" Yes, yes we did.

Jer's infamous bacon wrapped turkey.
Someone showed up and got a little jealous of our "piggy bank" and tried to go all Pink Panthers on us and take some for his own. Busted.
We tried our best to keep the boys occupied.
Give this kid some food and a dog and he is good to go.

While the women stayed busy with their wine.

Showing the boys the proper way to use Ready Whip.

I make them take a family photo much to their chagrin. They will thank me later.
After everyone left we took a quick cat nap and headed to Jer's Aunt and Uncle's house for the best darn smoked turkey ever made.

We settled in for the Eagles vs Cowboys game when the room got tense due to a room divided in favor of teams. Thank you McCoy for breaking the ice with your intense nose picking session.

We headed home exhausted with our bellies full and quickly made our way to bed. My head hit the pillow with a smile on my face and I fell fast a sleep.

Cheers, to a great Thanksgiving with family, delicious food, laughter, and remembering those that are not here with us physically but live in our hearts forever.

  1. Love it. Everyone should have an aunt that teaches them "the proper way" to eat Reddi Whip!
